By 3:30 p.m. AST today deepening low 950 mb located over Labrador
Coast.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Sunday low 970 mb located northeast of
Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located on a line north-south over
the Marine District.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday trough located on a line north-south over
Nova Scotia.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:56 AM AST 4 February 2023 An area of low pressure over Labrador will continue to deepen as itmoves to lie over the Labrador Sea today and then will move to lie
northeast of Newfoundland tonight and will finally pass east of
forecast waters. Gale to storm force westerlies will persist until
late today, when they will diminish over western waters as a ridge of
high pressure approaches from the west. Late on Sunday a trough will
approach from the west, giving strong to possibly gale force
southerlies over southeastern waters.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters.
