By 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday low 1003 mb located over the Maritimes.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Sunday ridge located over the western Marine
District.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Sunday ridge located from Anticosti Island to
Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:21 PM AST 7 December 2024 A low pressure system over the Labrador Sea will continue trackingaway today. Strong to gale force westerlies shift to light to
moderate as a ridge moves in tonight.
On Sunday a low over Southern Quebec will intensify and
Cross Nova Scotia to lie over eastern forecast waters Sunday night.
Strong to gale force southerlies ahead of the low with possible storm
force southerlies for easternmost marine waters shift to moderate to
strong westerlies behind the low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu,
Banquereau and Laurentian Fan. Freezing spray warnings
Are in effect for Northumberland Strait, Gulf - Magdalen - western
half, Chaleur - Miscou, and Anticosti.
