Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:50 AM AST 2 December 2022 In the wake of a trough of low pressure east of the region, strong to
gale force westerlies over northern and eastern waters will gradually
diminish through the day today.
Another trough of low pressure is forecast to approach the district
Saturday night. Ahead of this feature strong to gale force southerly
winds will develop over northern and western waters.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern
shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, Cabot Strait - northern half,
Gulf - Magdalen, Chaleur - Miscou and Anticosti.
Outlook for the start of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery, lfa34.
Saturday...Winds southwest 15 knots backing to southerly 25 in the
morning and then increasing to south 35 to 40 late in the afternoon.
Seas 1 to 2 metres increasing to 3 metres late in the day.
Sunday...Winds southwest 30 knots veering to northwest 20 to 25 early
in the morning then diminishing to light in the evening. Seas 3 to 4
metres becoming 2 metres late in the day.
Monday...Southwest 10 to 15 knots. Seas near 1 metre.
Tuesday...Southerly 20 knots. Seas zero to 1 metres becoming 2
meteres in the afternoon.
