District.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough from 985 mb low located east of
the Marine District.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Tuesday trough from 978 mb low located over the
northern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:54 AM NST 25 November 2024 An intense low pressure system over the Cabot Strait will trackacross Newfoundland today to sit east of the marine district by
This evening. A trough extending from the low will sweep back across
eastern regions of the marine district overnight and Tuesday. Strong
to gale force east to northeasterlies are expected north of the low,
while strong to gale force westerlies are expected to its south.
Winds will become strong to gale force northwesterly as the trough
crosses the region on Tuesday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast Coast, Belle
Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Southwestern Grand Banks - southern
half.
