By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing low 970 mb located northeast of
Funk Island Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located over northern Belle Isle
Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Saturday departing trough located east of Funk
Island Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south
over Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Saturday ridge located from Labrador Sea to
Banquereau.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:52 AM NST 26 February 2021 A deepening low pressure system northeast of Funk Island Bank willcontinue northeastward away from the district today. Gale force
southwesterlies south of the low will shift to strong to gale force
northwesterlies in its wake before diminishing over most waters
tonight.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over Northern Belle Isle Bank
will continue to cross northeastern waters today and tonight. Strong
to gale force northwesterlies will persist over northeastern waters
as the trough passes.
On Saturday, strong to gale force southwesterlies are expected to
develop over western waters between a passing ridge of high pressure
and a trough approaching from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Northeast Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Grand Banks.
