At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough from 997 mb low located over
southeastern Labrador.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Thursday quasi-stationary trough located on a
line northeast-southwest over Funk Island Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight departing ridge located over the Grand

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:57 PM NDT 15 August 2018 A trough extending from a low over the South Labrador Sea will
approach the marine district this evening. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies will develop overnight in its wake over western

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Northeast Gulf and Gulf - Port au Port.

At 06:30 PM NDT, subtropical storm Ernesto was located near
Latitude 39.0 north and longitude 45.7 west. Ernesto has maximum
sustained winds of 35 knots and is moving northward at about 8 knots
with a minimum central pressure of 1008 MB.

Ernesto is forecast to accelerate northeastward on Thursday.
This track keeps Ernesto southeast of the Grand Banks and is not
expected to have any impacts on the marine district.
