Issued 3:30 PM NDT 15 March 2026 Tonight and Monday At 3:30 p.m. NDT today low 985 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.By 10:00 a.m. NDT Monday low 990 mb located east of the Marine
District.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today trough located over Labrador Sea.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Monday trough located southeast of Belle Isle Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT Monday approaching trough located over the
Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:21 PM NDT 15 March 2026 A low pressure system east of the Funk Island Bank will move awayfrom the region tonight. Gale to storm force northwesterlies in the
wake of the low will diminish to strong to gale force as it moves
away.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure over the Labrador Sea will move
southeastward and cross the Belle Isle Bank on Monday. This feature
will help maintain strong to gale force northwesterlies over eastern
waters.
A second trough will move over the Maritimes on Monday and bring
strong to gale force southeasterlies to southwestern waters late in
the day.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Funk Island Bank and Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in
effect for all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle,
Northeast Gulf and the Southwest Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
