Issued 3:00 AM AST 23 January 2019 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. AST today departing trough located east of the Marine
District.

At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located west of the Marine District.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located from Newfoundland to
Laurentian Fan.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 995 mb located near the Great Lakes.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday low 987 mb located over northern New
Brunswick.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:55 AM AST 23 January 2019 A trough of low pressure over Newfoundland will continue to track
eastward away from the marine district today. Strong to gale force
northwesterly winds and freezing spray in the wake of the trough will
gradually diminish and subside today as a ridge of high pressure
builds in from the west.

A low pressure system near the Great Lakes this afternoon will track
northeastward reaching Northern New Brunswick by Thursday evening.
Increasing southerly winds ahead of the system will reach gale force
Thursday morning over western waters and spread eastward throughout
the day.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Chaleur-Miscou - western half.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for eastern shore - eastern
half, Sable - eastern half, Fourchu, Cabot Strait, Northumberland
Strait - eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.
