Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:33 PM AST 20 November 2018 A low pressure system approaching from the southwest will intensify
as it tracks along the south shore of Nova Scotia tonight before
eventually tracking north of Newfoundland late on Tuesday.
Westerly gales are expected to develop over southwestern waters
tonight and spread to eastern waters on Wednesday morning. After a
brief diminishing of the winds on Wednesday afternoon, westerly gales
will redevelop over southwestern waters Wednesday evening as a second
trough of low pressure crosses the district.

Behind this second trough, a period of gale to near storm force
northwesterly winds is forecast to usher in an unseasonably cold air
mass. Freezing spray is anticipated to develop Wednesday night or
Thursday morning over northern waters and warnings are likely to be
issued with future forecasts.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fundy and the Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
