By 3:30 p.m. AST Friday ridge located on a line north-south over
Nova Scotia.
At 8:00 p.m. AST Friday approaching low 1015 mb located near
Cape Hatteras.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:45 PM AST 12 December 2019 A low pressure system over Western Newfoundland will continue to moveaway this evening. As a result strong to gale force northwesterlies
persist across the district and could possibly approach storm force
over northernmost waters. Winds are expected to diminish over most
waters by tonight as a ridge of high pressure approaches from the
west.
On Friday moderate to strong southerlies will develop over western
waters late in the day as a low pressure system approaches from the
southwest.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank,
southwestern shore, LaHave Bank and West Scotian Slope.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen,
Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
