over Labrador.
At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight trough from low located over the
St. Lawrence River.
By 3:30 p.m. ADT Thursday trough located over Anticosti Island.
At 3:30 p.m. ADT Thursday building ridge located over the eastern
United States.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:50 PM ADT 16 April 2025 A low pressure system over the Quebec Lower North Shore will move tolie over Labrador tonight, where it will remain nearly stationary
until Thursday night. An associated trough will move over the
district from the west during the day on Thursday.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies over northern waters will
diminish tonight as the low moves away. Strong to gale force
westerlies will develop over northern waters on Thursday behind the
trough.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
Anticosti.
Outlook for the start-up of the eastern shore lobster fishery.
Friday..Winds west 15 knots becoming southwest 20 knots in the
afternoon. Sea state 1 to 2 metres.
Saturday..Winds southwest 20 knots becoming southwest 25 to 30 knots
in the afternoon. Sea state 1 to 2 metres increasing to 2 to 3
metres.
