Issued 8:00 PM AST 14 December 2019 Tonight and Sunday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight warm front located from the Gulf of Maineto Banquereau.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Sunday departing warm front located on a line
east-west over Anticosti Island.
At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight cold front located on a line north-south
over Long Island.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Sunday departing cold front located on a line
north-south over Banquereau.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:49 PM AST 14 December 2019 A low pressure system centered over New York will move northeast andlie over Western Labrador by Sunday evening. The warm front extending
east from the low will move north across the marine district tonight
and lie over Anticosti early Sunday morning. Strong to gale force
southerlies will continue as the low tracks into Labrador.
The cold front from the low will extend south to Cape Cod this
evening and will move east to Banquereau by Sunday afternoon. Gale to
storm force southerlies ahead of it will veer to storm force
southwesterlies for Anticosti and gale force west to southwesterlies
elsewhere in the marine district.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Laurentian Fan and Anticosti. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters.
Large waves approaching from the south, combined with storm surge,
may cause minor flooding from Yarmouth County east to Queens County.
The highest risk will be near high tide, which will be at noon on
Sunday.
