At 3:30 p.m. AST today low 992 mb located southwest of Georges Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Tuesday low 974 mb located south of Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:35 AM AST 16 February 2026 An area of low pressure over the eastern marine waters will continueto intensify as it tracks eastward today, departing later this
afternoon. Strong to gale force west to northwesterlies are expected
south of and in the wake of this low.
A second low will intensify as it tracks just south of the slope
waters, gale to storm force easterlies will become strong to gale
force northerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - southern half, Banquereau - southeastern half
and Laurentian Fan.
Gale warnings are in effect for Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope,
Sable, East Scotian Slope - northern half and Banquereau -
northwestern half.
