Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM AST 21 November 2018 Tonight and Thursday By 3:30 p.m. AST today departing low 986 mb located north of

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight intensifying low 1003 mb located over
the Bay of Fundy.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday low 985 mb located over Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:26 PM AST 21 November 2018 A low pressure system north of Newfoundland will continue to depart
the region this afternoon. Strong to gale force westerlies in the
wake of this system will continue to diminish this afternoon and
evening over eastern waters.

Meanwhile, a second low pressure system will move to lie over the Bay
of Fundy this evening before intensifying as it tracks northeastward
to lie over Newfoundland by Thursday evening. Strong to gale force
westerly winds are expected to develop as this system tracks through
the region prior to gale force northwesterly winds developing in its
wake. These northwesterly winds will usher in an unseasonably cold
air mass that will bring freezing spray over most northern and
Atlantic coastal regions.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters. Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan,
Lurcher, southwestern shore, eastern shore, Fourchu, Northumberland
Strait, Gulf Magdalen - western half, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
