Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:47 AM AST 12 November 2018 A deep low pressure system off the South Labrador Coast will continue
moving eastward today. Strong to gale force westerly winds in the
wake of this disturbance will gradually diminish as the low moves
further away from the district and a ridge of high pressure builds in
from the west.
A second low pressure system will develop along the eastern us
seaboard Tuesday morning and will rapidly intensify as it tracks
northeastward towards the Maritimes. Increasing southeasterly winds
will reach gale, or possibly storm force, over southwestern waters
ahead of this low pressure system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fourchu, Northumberland Strait, and Chaleur-Miscou.
Outlook for the start-up of the Southwest New Brunswick lobster
Today..Winds northwest 25 knots diminishing to northwest 15 to 20
this evening. Winds diminishing to light near midnight.
Tuesday..Winds light becoming southeast 15 to 20 knots in the morning
then increasing to southeast 25 near noon and to southeast 35 late in
the afternoon. Winds increasing further to south 45 knots in the
evening for Grand Manan.
Wednesday..Winds west 40 knots.
