Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:50 AM AST 16 January 2022 An intense low pressure system north of Newfoundland will continue to
move slowly away from the marine district today. Strong to gale force
northwesterlies over most waters will gradually diminish from west to
east today as a ridge approaches from the west.
Another low pressure system is forecast to approach the region
spreading gale to storm force southeasterly winds across the district
later in the day on Monday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore,
LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian
Slope and Fourchu. Gales warnings are in effect for all remaining
Additionally, freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters
except Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank and
West Scotian Slope.
