Newfoundland.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight ridge located on a line north-south over
the Great Lakes.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Wednesday ridge located on a line north-south
over Maine.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:09 PM AST 18 December 2018 An intense low pressure system located over Cabot Strait will
Slowly move across Southern Newfoundland tonight before departing
northeast of Newfoundland on Wednesday. Behind the low, gale force
northwesterlies will develop across the district and those gales
Are expected to reach storm force tonight over Cabot Strait and
Gulf-Magdalen. Cold air behind this system will give freezing
Spray to Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti tonight and Wednesday with
A risk of freezing spray for the remaining Gulf waters.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect
For Cabot Strait and Gulf-Magdalen. Gale warnings are in effect
For all remaining marine waters. Freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.

Marine interests are also advised that higher than normal water
levels and heavy pounding surf are expected tonight along
The Îles de la Madeleine, as well as north to northwest-facing
coastlines of Western Cape Breton, Eastern Prince Edward Island
And Northern Nova Scotia.
