eastern Quebec.
At 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 980 mb located south of West
Scotian Slope.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday approaching low 960 mb located south of
Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:42 PM AST 3 January 2025 A low pressure system over Southern Quebec will slowly tracknorthward to lie over Eastern Quebec tonight where it will stall and
weaken. Strong to gale force southwest winds will gradually diminish
today and tonight.
On Saturday, another low pressure system will intensify rapidly and
approach southeastern waters where gale to storm force northerly
winds are forecast.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - eastern half and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in
effect for Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore,
LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian
Slope and Banquereau - western half.
