Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:48 AM AST 9 December 2018 An intensifying low pressure system currently northeast of
Newfoundland will continue to pull away this afternoon. Northwesterly
gales over eastern waters will diminish this afternoon and tonight as
a ridge of high pressure approaches from New England. Cold Arctic air
will give freezing spray to the northern half of the district today.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf Magdalen -
northeastern half and Anticosti.
In addition, freezing spray warnings are in effect for southwestern
shore, LaHave Bank, eastern shore, Sable, Fourchu, Cabot Strait and
all Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
