Issued 10:00 AM NST 27 February 2021 Today Tonight and Sunday At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Newfoundland.By 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line north-south over
the Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located over New England.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 995 mb located over the Southwest
Coast of Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:54 AM NST 27 February 2021 A trough of low pressure will approach the marine district from thewest and develop into a low later today. The low pressure system will
then move to lie over the Southwest Coast Sunday afternoon. Strong to
gale force southwesterlies will develop over western waters today as
the trough approaches. On Sunday, the low will cause strong to gale
force southeasterlies to spread across southern waters before
shifting to strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast
and Funk Island Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast - north of
Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island
Bank.
