Issued 10:00 AM NDT 20 September 2021 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 10:00 a.m. NDT today weakening low 990 mb located over the
southeastern Grand Banks.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday low 1004 mb located southeast of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT Tuesday trough located on a line east-west over
northwestern Labrador Sea.

At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located over Labrador.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Avalon Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:40 AM NDT 20 September 2021 An intense low pressure system will track eastward across the
Southern Grand Banks today before moving southeast of the district
tonight where it will stall for a few days. Gale force southerlies
ahead of the low shift to gale to storm force northerlies in its
wake. Winds will diminish tonight into Tuesday as the low weakens and
a ridge of high pressure moves southeast of Newfoundland.

A trough of low pressure will stretch across the Labrador Sea on
Tuesday. Gale force southwesterlies will develop over the Strait of
Belle Isle near noon Tuesday between this trough and the ridge of
high pressure to the southeast.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, and the Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Southwest
Coast, South Coast, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, and Funk
Island Bank.
