Issued 3:00 AM NST 5 February 2023 Today Tonight and Monday At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough located on a line north-south overthe eastern Marine District.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing trough located southeast of
Greenland.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Monday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over eastern Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:48 AM NST 5 February 2023 A trough of low pressure over eastern waters will move out to seatoday. Gale to storm force southwesterlies ahead of the trough will
shift to gale to storm force northwesterlies over most waters in its
wake, with hurricane force winds expected over Belle Isle Bank.
Winds will diminish to strong westerlies through the day today as the
trough moves away.
A second trough of low pressure will approach from the west tonight
and sweep across the marine district on Monday. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies will spread across all waters later today and tonight
ahead of the trough. Winds will diminish to moderate to strong north
to northwesterlies on Monday in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Belle Isle Bank. Storm warnings are in effect for South
Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank and the Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
