over Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 8:00 PM NST 19 January 2020 A low pressure system located just northeast of Cape Breton will
cross Central Newfoundland tonight to lie over Belle Isle Bank Monday
afternoon. Gale to storm force east to southeasterlies ahead of the
low tonight will shift to strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will shift to moderate to strong
westerlies as the low departs on Monday.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island Bank, and the
Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast,
and Belle Isle Bank.
