Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NDT 11 March 2025 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NDT today quasi-stationary trough located northeast
of the Marine District.

At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight trough located over the Gaspe Peninsula.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Wednesday low 993 mb located over southern
Labrador Coast.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
Cabot Strait.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Wednesday ridge located east of the Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:20 PM NDT 11 March 2025 A trough of low pressure northeast of the marine district will remain
nearly stationary tonight before weakening on Wednesday. Meanwhile a
ridge of high pressure approaching from the west will move to lie
over Newfoundland tonight. Gale force northwesterlies over Belle Isle
Bank between these two features will diminish on Wednesday as the
trough weakens.

A second trough approaching from the west will move to lie over the
Gaspé Peninsula tonight before strengthening to a low and crossing
Labrador on Wednesday. Strong to gale force southerlies to westerlies
will develop over Gulf waters on Wednesday to the south of the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters, and Belle Isle
Bank.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters, East
Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank,
and Funk Island Bank.
