Issued 10:00 AM NST 18 December 2024 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located over Newfoundland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing trough located east of the
Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 1016 mb located over the East
Coast of the U.S.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday deepening low 1002 mb located over the
Southwest Coast of Newfoundland.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday departing ridge located east of the
Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:50 AM NST 18 December 2024 A trough of low pressure over the west coast of Newfoundland will
continue eastward across the marine district today before quickly
departing tonight. Gale force south to southwesterlies are expected
across all waters ahead of the trough.

On Thursday a low pressure system will approach the district from the
southwest and quickly track across Southeastern Newfoundland.
Gale force south to southwesterlies are expected to the south and
east of the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
southwest cost, South Coast, East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and the
Grand Banks.
