At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 1003 mb located northeast
of Cape Hatteras.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Monday low 978 mb located over Funk Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:56 PM NST 18 January 2026 A low pressure system northeast of Cape Hatteras will deepen as ittracks northeastward to lie over Funk Island Bank on Monday evening.
Strong to gale force easterlies to northeasterlies will develop on
Monday to the north of its track, while gale to storm force
westerlies to southwesterlies will develop to its south. Winds will
shift to strong to gale force northwesterlies Monday night in its
wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
South Coast, East Coast, and Northern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are
in effect for all remaining waters except for the Strait of Belle
Isle and Gulf waters.
Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
