By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing low 976 mb located east of
Newfoundland.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight intensifying trough located over
southwestern Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Thursday low 1003 mb located south of Laurentian
Fan.

At 10:00 a.m. AST today high 1028 mb located over Ontario.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday high 1028 mb located over New England.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:41 AM AST 29 January 2020 A trough of low pressure will develop over Southwestern Newfoundland
this evening and intensify as it sweeps southward to lie south of
Laurentian Fan by Thursday afternoon. Gale force northerly winds will
develop behind this system. For eastern shore and Sable regions,
these gales will be confined to central sections.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope - eastern half, Laurentian
Fan - western half, Northumberland Strait - eastern half, and Gulf
Magdalen - eastern half.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are
In effect for all waters except Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope,
Banquereau and Laurentian Fan.
