By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight trough located from Newfoundland to
Laurentian Fan.
At 10:00 a.m. AST Sunday trough located northeast of Newfoundland.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Sunday ridge located west of the Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:48 AM AST 16 February 2019 A trough of low pressure will move eastward across the marinedistrict today. Strong to gale force southeasterly winds are forecast
ahead of the trough. Winds will diminish to moderate to strong
westerlies in the wake of the trough.
Gale force northwesterly winds will develop Sunday morning over
northern waters between the trough and a ridge of high pressure to
the west.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Anticosti - eastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for eastern
shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian
Fan, Cabot Strait, Northumberland Strait-eastern half, Gulf-Magdalen
and Anticosti-eastern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Fundy, eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half,
Fourchu, Banquereau, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - northern half and
Anticosti.
