Issued 2:42 AM ADT 16 May 2026 A low pressure system east of Cape Breton will continue trackingnortheastward to lie northeast of Newfoundland by this afternoon.
Winds will increase to gale force westerly winds in its wake.
Winds will subside this evening as the low departs the region.
A trough of low pressure will crossed the marine district on Sunday.
Strong southwesterlies ahead of the trough with increase to strong to
gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - southern half, Laurentian Fan, Gulf - Magdalen -
northeastern half, and Anticosti.
