Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM AST 22 January 2020 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. AST today quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Maritimes.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today low 1010 mb located south of Laurentian Fan.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 1002 mb located over the southern
Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday trough located over northern Quebec.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday trough located north of the Gaspe
Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:45 AM AST 22 January 2020 A high pressure system will remain stationary over southern waters
today and Thursday. A weak low pressure system will pass south of the
region today bringing moderate to strong northeasterlies over eastern
portions of the Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan. On Thursday, a
through will approach the Northern Gulf of St. Lawrence bringing
strong southwesterlies over northern waters. Winds will shift to
west-northwest Thursday evening.

Marine interests are advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Anticosti.
