Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM AST 17 February 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 959 mb located southeast of Laurentian
Fan.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Wednesday departing low 969 mb located over the
southern Grand Banks.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Wednesday trough located from New Brunswick to
the Gulf of Maine.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Wednesday trough located over the central Marine
District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:44 PM AST 17 February 2026 An intense low pressure system southeast of Laurentian will continue
moving northeastward this evening to lie over the Southern Grand
Banks overnight. Gale to storm force northeasterlies north of the low
will become strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Scotian Slope - southeastern half, Banquereau - southeastern
half and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for Sable, East
Scotian Slope - northwestern half and Banquereau - northwestern half.
