Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM AST 6 March 2026 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:00 a.m. AST today low located southwest of Georges Bank.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Saturday dissipating low located south of East
Scotian Slope.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 997 mb located over Ontario.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday approaching low 987 mb located northwest
of the Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:39 AM AST 6 March 2026 A low pressure system will slowly approach southwestern waters today
passing south of Georges Bank this evening before dissipating on
Saturday. Winds will increase to strong to gale force easterlies just
north of the low then diminish on Saturday.

On Saturday another low will approach the Maritimes from the west.
Strong to gale force southerly winds are forecast to develop late in
the day over northern waters.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half
and Anticosti - southeastern half.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf-Magdalen - northeastern half and Anticosti -
southeastern half.
