Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM ADT 17 April 2025 Today Tonight and Friday At 10:00 a.m. ADT today quasi-stationary low 987 mb located over
Labrador.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today trough from low located over the
St. Lawrence River.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Friday trough located over the eastern Gulf of
St. Lawrence.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT today building ridge located over the eastern
United States.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:33 AM ADT 17 April 2025 A low pressure system over Labrador will remain nearly stationary
until tonight when it begins to move northeastward. An associated
trough will move over the district from the west today. Strong to
gale force westerlies will develop over northern waters behind the
trough today.

Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
Anticosti - western half.

Outlook for the start-up of the eastern shore lobster fishery.

Friday..Winds west 15 knots becoming southwest 20 knots in the
afternoon. Sea state 1 to 2 metres.

Saturday..Winds southwest 20 knots becoming southwest 25 to 30 knots
mid day. Sea state 1 to 2 metres increasing to 2 to 3 metres.

Sunday..Winds southwest 20 to 25 becoming northwest 25 late in the
day. Sea state 2 to 3 metres.

Monday..Northwest 25 to 35 becoming northwest 15 to 20 in the
afternoon. Sea state 2 to 3 metres becoming 1 to 2 metres.
