At 8:00 p.m. AST Sunday weakening low 985 mb located over the
eastern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:45 PM AST 23 November 2024 An intense low pressure system over Northumberland Strait will stallthere tonight then drift slowly eastward on Sunday as it gradually
weakens. Strong to gale force winds will continue around this low
tonight and Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Banquereau, and Cabot Strait - southern half.
Marine interests are advised that higher than normal water levels and
rough surf is expected along north and east facing coastlines of the
Gulf of St. Lawrence near the high tide this evening.
Outlook for the start of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery.
Monday..Winds northwesterly 35 knots diminishing to 25 to 30 knots in
the afternoon and to 20 by evening. Seas 3 to 4 metres subsiding to 2
late in the day.
Tuesday..Winds light in the morning increasing to southeast 15 to 20
in the afternoon and southerly 20 to 25 by evening. Seas one metre
