By 3:30 p.m. NST today low 983 mb located north of Labrador Sea.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today cold front from low located on a line
north-south over the Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today cold front from low located east of the
Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located over Quebec.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday ridge located over Newfoundland.

At 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday approaching low 1006 mb located near
Anticosti Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:55 AM NST 19 January 2022 A low pressure system located over the Labrador Sea will move off to
the north today. A cold front associated with the low located over
the Grand Banks will move to lie east of the marine district this
morning. Gale force southeasterlies ahead of the front will veer to
strong to gale force southwesterlies or westerlies as it passes, and
then diminish as a ridge follows from the west.

On Thursday a low pressure system approaching from the west will
track over the Gulf of St. Lawrence during the morning and reach the
Belle Isle Bank by evening. Strong to gale force southwesterlies will
develop ahead of its track.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect all
waters except Strait of Belle Isle and the Gulf waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
