Issued 3:00 AM NST 1 March 2021 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 998 mb located over the southeasternGrand Banks.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 996 mb located east of the
Grand Banks.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight intensifying trough from 986 mb low
located south of Nova Scotia.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Tuesday trough from 965 mb low located from
Anticosti Island to the Strait of Belle Isle then to the Grand
Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
Nova Scotia.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday ridge located on a line north-south over
the eastern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:53 AM NST 1 March 2021 A low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will trackeast of the district this evening. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies north of the low and west to northwesterly gales
south of the low and in its wake will diminish later today or this
evening as it departs.
Another low pressure system will form over the Gulf of Maine this
evening then rapidly intensify as it moves to lie over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence tonight where it will stall on Tuesday. A trough
associated with the low will sweep northeastward across the district
tonight and Tuesday. Gale to storm force east to southeasterly winds
will spread across all waters ahead of the trough before shifting to
strong to gale force west to southwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast - Cape St. Francis and
south, and the Southern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters.
