Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM NST 16 February 2020 Tonight and Monday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough located over western Newfoundland.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Monday departing trough located east of the
Marine District.

At 3:00 a.m. NST Monday low 1015 mb located south of Nova Scotia.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Monday intensifying low 1011 mb located south of
the Avalon Peninsula.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:47 PM NST 16 February 2020 A trough of low pressure over Western Newfoundland will rapidly move
eastward across the district tonight. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies to westerlies can be expected both ahead of the
trough and in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Gulf waters and the Southern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, and Belle Isle Bank.
