Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:51 AM NDT 25 September 2022 Post tropical storm Fiona is forecast to track northeastward across
Southeastern Labrador today and into the Labrador Sea by this
Gale to storm force southeast to southwest winds over northern and
western waters will diminish today as Fiona departs the region.
Marine interests are advised that storm force wind warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - western half and Northeast Gulf -
southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle
Isle - eastern half, Northeast Gulf - northwestern half, Gulf-Port au
Port, Northeast Coast, and Belle Isle Bank.
At 3:00 AM NDT, post-tropical storm Fiona was located near
Latitude 50.6 north and longitude 58.6 west, or about 122 nautical
miles north of Stephenville. Maximum sustained winds were estimated
at 50 knots and central pressure at 960 MB. Fiona was moving
north-northeastward at 20 knots.
