Wind east 25 knots diminishing to variable 10 to 15 this afternoon then increasing to southwest 30 near midnight. Wind increasing to southwest 35 Wednesday morning then veering to northwest 35 to 45 Wednesday afternoon. Wind becoming northwest 35 Wednesday evening.

Snow or periods of freezing rain changing to rain or freezing rain and fog patches this evening and ending near midnight. Flurries Wednesday afternoon and evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation and in fog patches.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray ending this morning. Freezing spray beginning Wednesday morning.

Temperatures minus 5 rising to zero near noon then falling to minus 6 Wednesday morning.

Issued 3:00 AM NDT 1 April 2025 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today intensifying low 997 mb located over the
St. Lawrence River.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 982 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:50 AM NDT 1 April 2025 A low pressure system over the St. Lawrence River will intensify as
it tracks across the Quebec Lower North Shore today to lie over Belle
Isle Bank by Wednesday morning. Strong southeasterlies ahead of the
low will shift to strong to gale force southwest to northwesterlies
in its wake.

Storm to hurricane force northwesterlies will develop over Belle Isle
Bank on Wednesday afternoon as the low continues to intensify over
the South Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Northeast Gulf, East Coast - north of Cape
St. Francis, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, and
Belle Isle Bank.
