Issued 3:00 AM NDT 18 April 2026 Today Tonight and Sunday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough located east of the Marine District.By 3:30 p.m. NDT today departing trough located east of the Marine
District.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT Sunday approaching trough located over southern
Quebec.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over western Labrador.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Sunday ridge located on a line north-south over
the northern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:59 AM NDT 18 April 2026 A trough of low pressure east of the marine district will continue tomove eastward today. Strong to gale force northerlies to
northwesterlies over eastern waters behind the trough will diminish
today as the trough departs and a ridge of high pressure builds in
from Western Labrador.
On Sunday, the ridge will lie east of Newfoundland and a trough of
low pressure will slowly move across the St. Lawrence River Valley.
Between these two features, strong to gale force southerlies are
expected over western waters.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern
Grand Banks.
Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half, Northeast Coast,
Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
