Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:45 AM NST 22 February 2018 A low pressure system east of Funk Island Bank will rapidly intensify
as it moves out over the North Atlantic today and tonight. Meanwhile,
a strong area of high pressure will slowly build eastward from
Quebec. Gale to storm force northwesterlies can be expected today in
the wake of the low. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will then
persist tonight and Friday between the low and the approaching high.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
