Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:54 AM NDT 17 October 2018 An intense low pressure system just east of Belle Isle will continue
to move eastward away from the marine district today. Gale to storm
force northwest to southwesterlies in its wake will gradually
A trough of low pressure is forecast to approach from the west
tonight. The trough is expected to extend eastward across
Newfoundland on Thursday. Strong to gale force northeasterlies are
expected north of the trough while strong to gale force
southwesterlies are expected to its south.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank. Gale warnings are
in effect for all remaining waters except Gulf - Port au Port and
Southeastern Grand Banks.
