At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Belle Isle Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Thursday approaching low 1004 mb located over
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:53 AM NDT 21 August 2019 A low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank will track eastward today
then continue out to sea tonight. Strong to gale force north to
northwesterlies will persist in the wake of the low today over
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
At 9:30 AM NDT, tropical storm Chantal was located near 40.3
North 52.8 west. Maximum sustained winds were 35 knots. Chantal was
moving eastward at about 19 knots. The central pressure of Chantal
was 1010 MB. Chantal is forecast to remain a tropical storm with
maximum sustained winds of 35 knots.
Chantal is not expected to pose a threat to the marine district.
