Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:29 PM NST 8 February 2023 A low pressure system over the Southeastern Grand Banks will continue
northeastwards to lie east of Belle Isle Bank by Thursday. Strong to
gale force southerlies will continue ahead of the low early this
evening. In the wake of the low, and ahead of a ridge of high
pressure approaching from the west, strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies are expected over most waters tonight and Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf-Port au Port, Belle Isle Bank, and the Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all areas with open water except the Grand Banks.
