Wind diminishing to southeast 20 overnight then increasing to east 35 Saturday morning. Wind increasing to southwest 45 to 55 Saturday afternoon.

Showers and fog patches ending this morning. Rain beginning overnight. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and in rain.

Issued 3:00 AM NST 15 December 2017 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 956 mb located over northern Labrador.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday merging low 972 mb located over Labrador
Sea.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 988 mb located over western
Funk Island Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday merging low 955 mb located over northern
Labrador Sea.

By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching low 996 mb located south of
Nova Scotia.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:50 AM NST 15 December 2017 An intense low pressure system over Northern Labrador will slowly
meander today. A second, fast moving low pressure system over Funk
Island Bank will rapidly intensify as it accelerates towards the
Labrador Sea today. The two lows will merge over the Labrador Sea
tonight.

Over eastern waters, gale to storm force southerlies ahead of the low
will veer to strong to gale force southwesterlies in its wake.
Gale to storm force southwesterlies can be expected over most waters
today in the wake of both lows.

A third intense low pressure system will approach from the southwest
on Saturday and cross the Grand Banks. North of the low, gale force
northeasterlies will shift to gale force northwesterlies. South of
the low, gale force southeasterlies will veer to gale to storm force
southwesterlies.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the
Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and Belle Isle Bank.
