Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM NST 7 March 2025 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight intensifying low 966 mb located over the
Quebec Lower North Shore.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday low 951 mb located northeast of Lake
Melville.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight trough from low located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday dissipating trough from low located on
a line northwest-southeast over the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:59 PM NST 7 March 2025 A low pressure system over the Quebec Lower North Shore will continue
to intensify as it tracks northeastward to lie northeast of Lake
Melville by Saturday afternoon. A trough extending southeastward from
the low will sweep northward across the marine district tonight.
Strong to gale force south to southeasterlies ahead of the trough
will shift to gale to storm force south to southwesterlies overnight
into Saturday in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half and Belle Isle Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Northeast Gulf.
