Issued 3:00 AM NST 23 February 2018 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today deepening low 954 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight quasi-stationary low 938 mb located
southeast of Greenland.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today high located over southern Quebec.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday high located southwest of the Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NST Saturday approaching trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Quebec Lower North Shore.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:59 AM NST 23 February 2018 An intensifying low pressure system southeast of Greenland will move
to lie just off the southeast coast of Greenland by this evening,
where it will remain nearly stationary for the remainder of the
forecast period. Meanwhile, a strong area of high pressure over
Southern Quebec will slowly build eastward towards the Maritimes
today, then pass south of the Grand Banks on Saturday morning.
Strong to gale force northwesterlies over most waters between these
features will gradually weaken tonight as the high approaches.

A trough of low pressure approaching from the west in the wake of the
high will intensify as it crosses the Grand Banks on Saturday
evening. Gale force southwesterly winds will redevelop over the
Southern Grand Banks on Saturday afternoon as the system approaches,
then shift to gale force northwesterlies on Saturday evening in its
wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle
Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
