Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:30 PM NST 19 January 2020 Tonight and Monday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 994 mb located over Nova Scotia.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Monday low 988 mb located over eastern Belle
Isle Bank.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located over northeastern Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Monday departing ridge located on a line east-west
over Belle Isle Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:20 PM NST 19 January 2020 A low pressure system will approach from the southwest tonight and
will cross Central Newfoundland to lie over Belle Isle Bank Monday
afternoon. Gale to storm force east to southeasterlies will develop
ahead of the low tonight with strong to gale force west to
northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will shift to moderate to strong
westerlies as the low departs on Monday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island Bank, and the
Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast,
and Belle Isle Bank.
