Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 10:00 AM NST 13 January 2026 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today low 957 mb located east of Belle Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Wednesday departing low 971 mb located southeast
of Greenland.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located south of the Marine District.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the eastern Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:52 AM NST 13 January 2026 An intense low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank will continue
to track northeastward farther away from the district today and
Wednesday. Gale to storm force northwesterlies to southwesterlies
will gradually diminish over all waters as the low moves away and
weakens.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except Gulf
waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, and
Belle Isle Bank.
