Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM NST 18 January 2022 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 978 mb located near the Gaspe Peninsula.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday low 980 mb located over Labrador Sea.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today cold front from low located over the
Maritimes.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday cold front from low located over eastern
Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:54 AM NST 18 January 2022 A low pressure system located near the Gaspé Peninsula will move to
lie over the Labrador Sea by Wednesday morning. A cold front
associated with the low located over the Maritimes will move to lie
over Eastern Newfoundland overnight. Gale to storm force
southeasterlies ahead of the front will veer to strong to gale force
southwesterly or westerly as it passes.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Gulf-Port au Port, Southwest Coast, South Coast, East Coast,
Northeast Coast - Cape St. John and south, Belle Isle Bank, Funk
Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks and Southwestern Grand Banks.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank. Mariners are further
advised a high water level warning is in effect for Southwest Coast
for high tide this morning.
